I should have known better. I know I should have. And once I tell you this story, you’re going to say, "yep, you should have known better".

You see, I was doing some online shopping because I wanted to kill some time. I stumbled upon a website that was selling really inexpensive truck accessories. I had just recently bought a truck and figured that it would be nice to improve the appearance of it a little bit while also getting some accessories that could protect it from damage by the elements.

I chose my accessories and placed the order. What I didn’t do was read the fine print. Yes, I know.

When the accessories arrived, I discovered that they were practically impossible to install myself. Some had to be put together; no, there weren’t any instructions. Others were easy enough to put together but didn’t seem to fit quite right into my truck. I ended up having to pay my mechanic to do the installs for me which meant the products ended up costing a fortune.

I learned my lesson. Whether I’m buying a bed liner or fender flares, I will always make sure from now on to get truck accessories that are easy to install. I know they’re out there - I just didn’t look.
