If you are interested in starting a new career, an online degree might just be the answer.

New careers are hard to break into.  Because you don’t have job experience yet, it is especially important that you have an education in the field.  Otherwise, potential employers have no indication that you even know how to do the work — and since experienced, educated employees mean less training costs involved, it’s highly unlikely you’ll be hired.

However, if you have the education background required for the job, you are much more likely to be able to get your foot in the door.

There are a lot of schools offering online degrees nowadays.  I think traditional academia was reluctant at first to allow online learning, but as the idea grew in popularity most schools had no chance but to convert.  Today you can choose between traditional schools offering online classes, schools that offer both online and on campus programs, and schools that are dedicated solely to offering online college degrees.

If you are thinking about starting a new career, make sure you do it right — get your degree first, and then go get the job!
