Costumes for Your Dog this Halloween
By Value in Entertainment | 0 comments
Summer isn’t over yet, but as the days start to get a little shorter, our thoughts turn to all things autumn. For our family, the thing that reminds us that fall is really here more than any other is the Halloween season. And around here, people like to include their dogs in the festivities – our neighbors aren’t alone as Halloween costumes for dogs are increasingly popular across the country.
The most common dog costumes are based on popular characters like Superman and trendy icons like pirates or clowns. There are other, more elaborate dog costumes available and patterns or kits can be purchased at popular craft stores to make even more imaginative outfits for your four-legged babies. For a lot of people, there is a challenge in finding a costume to fit your dog – and a bigger challenge in finding a costume your dog will actually wear.
Whether you choose the sort of outfit you can strap to your dog and one of those that your dog must put at least two legs into, be sure to choose a dog costume that won’t obstruct the dog’s harness, collar or lead. Also bear in mind that for small dogs, the added warmth provided by sleeves on the legs is probably welcome protection from the elements – but for people with larger dogs, getting the legs into the sleeves might be more trouble than the cute photos of dog in a Halloween costume are worth.
