When School Became More Complex

School became just a bit more complex when things finally made the full switch to digital presentation. When in High School, I spent most of my classes creating presentations on white board and cardboard that would go in front of the class or on projector sheets to place in bright white light on the wall. But, then the computer decided to become inexpensive and everyone became a Powerpoint designer. The final few years of college then became a race with my other classmates to see who could find the best free Powerpoint templates for use in our presentations.

We would share Powerpoint tips, sure, but we definitely would not help each other find better templates or put those presentations together. The new digital rat race was almost comical in retrospect, but seemingly unnecessary, especially as the program and its derivatives have become so common place that it makes almost no sense to spend so much time trying to make a “better” presentation than your classmates (or in my case now, my coworkers). There will be a time when all of this running around seems quaint, when everyone has a computer build into their wrists, but at least for now it tends to give me a headache.
